The Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), held in March 2015 in Sharm El-Sheikh, is a keystone of the Egyptian government’s medium-term economic development plan and designed to bring prosperity and improved social services to the people of Egypt.
The conference was attended by leading global dignitaries, including His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates; John Kerry, the US Secretary of State; and Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Hosted by His Excellency President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, the EEDC highlighted the extensive reforms the government has implemented and showcased future reforms designed to restore fiscal stability, drive growth and attract investment from domestic and international investors across key sectors. The EEDC aims to reposition Egypt on the global investment map and affirm its potential as a source of political and economic stability in the region and a trusted partner on the international stage.
Pico had the unique opportunity to build the stage for this international symposium. The 2,200 sq. m. International Congress Centre was thematically designed for the EEDC platform with a white colour scheme adding a touch of simplicity. Using woodwork, print graphics, fabric works and furniture, Pico also built the meeting rooms, networking areas and the photo booth, providing an elegant, business-friendly atmosphere for visitors to discuss their plans for Egypt's future.
