Shanghai South Railway Station

As a landmark of Shanghai's south gate, Shanghai South Railway Station features a round, transparent roof covering an area of 50,000 sq. m., a focus for the eye during the day and at night.

Shaped like a wheel, the world’s first round railway station, it is designed to bear the message of "Keeping Pace with the Time" and serves as an interchange for the railway, subway, light track and buses. This project incarnates ‘symbolisation, modernisation and humanisation’ and is hailed as China’s No.1 railway station.

Albert Smith China took charge of the research and development of the way-finding system, the distribution of signs, and the design, production and installation of signs.
