Big stories sometimes come in small packages. This showroom’s floor area is just 64 square metres, and yet it provides an effective display for one of the most well-known product brands on the planet.
That brand is Amway, along with its array of sub-labels including Nutrilite, Artistry, eSpring and Atmosphere. The showroom’s location is Amway Centre in Shenzhen, one of a series of new concept experience and experimentation facilities the brand has established around China. Against this innovative backdrop, the showroom – designed and built by Pico – had to be correspondingly fresh, engaging, and very much integral to the overall ‘experience’ of the Centre. The design team responded with a highly integrated, seamless concept whose icy colour scheme and crisp, simple forms create an impression of purity and openness. So efficiently and elegantly does the design use space that there was even ample room to integrate a Nutrilite ‘history wall’ into its architecture. The success of the showroom was such that it became the template for similar spaces in Amway Centres at Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shanghai. For this small package, the story just keeps getting bigger.
