Organising the annual Dealer Conference for 180 dealers and 50 executive staff from GM and Chevrolet Russia is a complex and intricate project. Organising that conference in Thailand, where very few people speak either Russian or English, takes the level of complexity to a new dimension!
The objective for Pico was to top the previous year’s conference in Las Vegas, so expectations were high. Meeting and exceeding such expectations is Pico’s forte, so organising the conference programme, all hotel and tour logistics as well as the welcome reception, gala dinner and event programming for nine events at nine venues in three days in Bangkok and Pattaya presented no serious difficulties for our experienced teams.
The main obstacle which had to be overcome was the language barrier. This was overcome in two ways - first by creating a single point of contact, with one key person at GM Russia and another from Pico liaising via email to prepare the entire conference; the second by having English-Russian interpreters on the ground for the duration of the event to address any problems or questions from the participants.
Through clear communication and professionalism born from years of experience, Pico delivered an outstanding conference to a valuable - and valued - client.
