Essilor is a world-leading company in eyewear and ophthalmic optics with over 50,000 employees, a presence in more than 100 countries, and a mission to improve lives by improving sight. Pico was appointed to produce Essilor’s three-day annual conference at Dubai’s magnificent Atlantis Hotel, where 1,400 delegates from over 30 countries were invited to explore the key theme of ‘Navigate Through Change’.
With much of the content pre-determined by the client, we focused on giving international guests a memorable Middle Eastern experience through our curation of the dining experience as well as leisure activities, giving them a chance to discover the many facets of the local culture. Inspired by the forum theme, Pico developed a strong graphic identity that took the form of a compass - which is essential to navigate through unchartered territories. The compass design infused a touch of Arabic flavor to accentuate this year spectacular venue of Dubai.
A striking set and stage design provided a perfect backdrop to facilitate both large-scale presentations and in-depth discussions while the creation of an event-branded micro-site allowed delegates to register, obtain information and download presentation materials in advance. In addition to the main conference, we also organised activities to encourage networking opportunities and teamwork, including showcase presentations and inspirational industry speakers.
