Madagascar at the Africa Joint Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo 2010

The task at hand for Pico at the Madagascar Pavilion was to transport visitors from a realistic rural to a lifelike urban environment in a few short minutes, through detailed interior decoration, and sensitive and intelligent exhibition and multimedia management. Visitors began in a dense area of plants surrounding a typical rustic hut, then walked over a
mock ‘bridge to the city’ and arrived in a busy urban environment. The goal of comparing the two environments was to impress attendees with Madagascar’s astonishing diversity of flora and fauna and its deep cultural heritage.
