Singapore Management University (SMU), one of Asia’s premier universities, is internationally recognised for its world-class research and distinguished teaching. The university’s approximately 8,800 students pursue qualifications at the undergraduate, postgraduate, executive and professional levels across an extensive range of programmes at its six schools.
SMU’s annual Open House is a significant event in the university’s calendar, as it presents a key opportunity to recruit potential undergraduate students by impressing them with the university’s outstanding facilities, rich student life and market-relevant courses
In its brief to Pico, SMU consistently emphasised the need for a creative concept that will engage with their target audience and at the same time, showcase the university’s vibrancy and dynamism.
This vibrancy and dynamism were precisely what Pico delivered at this year’s Open House through our turnkey design, build and project management services. One of our overarching goals was to continue our long-term relationship with SMU. A decade of working relationship with SMU has enabled Pico to develop a deep understanding of the needs of each school, allowing us to create the unique and distinctive designs and crafted a different look and feel for the booth of each school booth. At the same time, we needed to ensure that the separate designs blend well with each other. Creating and maintaining a distinctive atmosphere for each school while adopting a uniform look and feel to the entire layout and design was a challenging balance which we managed to achieve.
The Pico team’s fun and lively design approach to the event, coupled with our strong work ethic, meant that the thousands of visitors had an enjoyable and informative visit during the two-day event.
