This year marks Singapore’s fiftieth anniversary, and the country is holding celebrations far and wide to commemorate this momentous occasion. At the end of June 2015, Hong Kong played host to Singapore Weekend, a three-day celebration of Singapore’s unique culture and amazing tourism opportunities.
Pico provided one stop design, build, multimedia and project management services to the Singapore Tourism Board, activating this compact but action-packed event held at Olympian City 2 on Kowloon side.
Our mission was multifaceted: primarily, we had to create awareness and public interest regarding various Singapore tourist attractions and events, specifically focusing on families. We were also tasked with engaging local target audiences to help them discover Singapore’s tourism products, encourage them to plan a family trip for their upcoming summer holiday, and finally to create a vibrant atmosphere to help everyone celebrate Singapore’s anniversary.
With a cornucopia of displays centred around Singapore’s signature hawker spot, Lau Pa Sat, including a photo-taking attraction area to promote Singapore tourist spots, food stalls demonstrating how to cook Singapore’s unique street food, travel agencies sales counters and a stage for daily performances, there was something to do in every corner of the venue. Despite the spatial challenge, we created a comfortable, spacious and impressive event to the public, the client and their partners, making everyone feel like they were in Singapore for the duration of their stay!
