Following on from the huge organisational success of last year’s ITMA Barcelona, Pico subsidiary MP International was given the role of organiser for this year’s ITMA Asia and CITME 2012 - the premiere textile industry machinery and technology shows in Asia and China respectively. Held concurrently at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the shows featured over 800 exhibitors and attracted over 100,000 visitors from all sectors of the global textile industry.
On top of MP International’s overarching logistical role, Pico provided design and fabrication services for special designs, exhibition display and interior fit-out, audio-visual equipment and graphics production for a number of clients at ITMA Asia. The objective for each of the clients was the same: to highlight their company’s position as market leaders within their sector of the textile industry.
While each brief was executed in a different style, each client chose to take advantage of our PicoEco services, and their displays were all created to be reusable so that after the show, they were dismantled and shipped to the client to be reassembled at another time.
Pico has been working with the leading global mechatronics solutions provider Stäubli for four years and are familiar with their exacting standards.
Paying careful attention to the colour and tone of the stand during the design and fabrication stage, the finer details of Stäubli’s machines were highlighted, without appearing too mechanical or metallic. Pico perfected a comfortable space which confidently displayed Stäubli’s products and caught the attention of overseas buyers.
Similarly, three Pico offices collaborated to design and fabricate a modern Japanese-style
booth for Shima Seiki Manufacturing Ltd. Using a raw space of 22 by 24m, the teams built a simple yet stylish and spacious 528 sq. m. semi-double deck booth.
The booth’s primary purpose was to provide a stage for the client’s garments. To realise the brief, 20m long windows provided an eye-catching ‘luxury shop window’ look, while inside an artistic spiral lighting centrepiece and plain white accents heightened the sense of indulgence.
To create simplicity can be deceptively difficult, and it took more than 40 workers and seven installation days to ensure that this gorgeous stand was just perfect.
Finally, Pico teams were challenged by Rieter to redevelop their corporate image for the shows. The stylish new image was a great success, as were the lighting effects at the Rieter booth, which resulted in one of the best-designed booths at the show.
