Singapore Airshow is the largest aerospace and defence event in Asia. Pico has been involved in this prestigious biennial event since its inauguration in 2008, and for the fourth edition of this world-class aviation show we were once again exclusively appointed as the show’s Official Technical Partner.
Within the exhibition area, we designed and fabricated showcases for some of the biggest names in global aviation such as ST Engineering, Changi Airport Group, Honeywell, Rafael, Thales, and Raytheon. In the outdoor chalet area, we were tasked with recreating a five-star hospitality ambiance for Airbus, Gulfstream, Israel Aerospace Industries and United Technologies.
Pico was also responsible for the design and build of the largest display within the exhibition area – the ST Engineering exhibit, a majestic 84 metre-long double deck structure, occupying over 2,900 sq.m. of prime floor space and equipped with a customer lounge, mezzanine and meeting rooms.
One challenge our teams had to face was incorporating diverse displays ranging from monstrous military vehicles to training simulators from the client’s different business units – Aerospace, Electronics, Land Systems and Marine – into a single grouping. We achieved this through the design of an overarching ‘grand ceiling’ which hung over the entire ST Engineering display space, giving visitors an instant overview of the space while providing a unified look. This powerful image encouraged top-of-mind recall for visitors and also helped achieve ST Engineering’s objective of positioning itself as an integrated service provider which meets the customised needs of its clients.
Singapore Airshow 2014 welcomed some 146,000 visitors over its six day duration, playing host to 279 delegations from 72 countries. Pico were a vital part of this success, helping to elevate the show to new heights by creating branded environments and experiences to connect some of aviation’s finest names with their target audiences, forming deep and lasting relationships.
