Singapore’s ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore is currently home to a fascinating groundbreaking exhibition featuring original masterpieces of the celebrated genius, Leonardo da Vinci, in Southeast Asia for the first time. Da Vinci: Shaping the Future presents his life and works through the unique framework of the Codex Atlanticus:, his largest notebook. On display are also original paintings from the School of da Vinci. which  in which he created beautiful drawings and recorded original ideas, detailed studies on a vast array of subjects.

Under the guidance of the team from ArtScience Museum, Pico together with Gallagher & Associates Asia, was tasked to design and build this one-of-a-kind unique 3,000 sq. m. exhibition that explore da Vinci’s works and legacy through five key topics: mathematics, natural science, architecture, technology and music.

This juxtaposition presented a challenge, as we needed to  seamlessly integrate the original masterpieces with five contemporary art installations to showcase the around the intersection between art, science, and technology.  Another challenging task faced was the need to create one-third of the exhibition (approximately  1,000 sq. m. of floor space) in just six days, as the space was occupied by another exhibition.

The team succeeded in our mission and created in creating immersive and engaging public exhibits, while ensuring the quality of the entire exhibition was worthy of this incredible artist and scientist the Renaissance Man.

“Without doubt, the talented and dedicated team from Pico pulled off the project rather brilliantly, delivering great results…it is great to know that such resources are available right on our doorstep...The compliments given here are not in isolation, our colleagues in the museum industry also share the same sentiments.” -Julia Vasko, Curator & Project Manager, Da Vinci: Shaping the Future, ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands.
