The World Expo in Dubai opened in October 2021, with Pico designing, building and operating some 20 national, corporate and thematic pavilions. These include pavilions for Algeria, Brazil, Cambodia, Comoros, Congo, Cuba, Czech Republic, Djibouti, Dubai Cares, Ethiopia, Grenada, Jamaica, Malaysia, Malta, Mozambique, Peru, Seychelles, Uganda and the UK, SAIC Motor at the China Pavilion, PTT at the Thailand Pavilion and more. In addition to overlay and wayfinding packages, Pico provided interior fit-out services for a temporary structure at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, and retail outlets across the Expo site. The team was also appointed by the Expo to manage more than 500 events during its six-month duration of the Expo. In terms of contract value, Pico’s involvement with Expo Dubai has been the largest in our 30 years of experience in world expositions.

PATEO Showroom was created as an employee showcase of the corporate culture and technologies that have made the company into the giant it is today.
View the case studyOne of the first specialty shops established in Shanghai after China’s reforms and opening in the 1980s, Hua Bao Lou grew to become one of the city’s largest destinations for crafts and antiques, with a diverse mid- to high-end stock that also included jewellery, paintings and calligraphy. Known for its unique retromodern style, the shop closed for renovation in 2020, with Pico appointed to provide prop production and installation and other services for phase one of the project. Reopened in December 2021, the renovated Hua Bao Lou interior recreates the eclectic traditional-modern charm of the original – very much in keeping with the Ming and Qing dynasty cues of the building’s exterior.

Flawless craftsmanship is one of the first things visitors to the 3,200 sq. m. space may notice. For ease of exploration, displays are organized into themed zones, including ‘Technology’ and ‘Olympic’ zones, a 360-degree cinema and an interactive photo zone. Interested visitors can learn highlights of Anta’s development, strategy and goals to gain a sense of its ‘corporate spirit’ and culture in the compelling ‘Anta Corporate Cultural zone’.

The economic benefits of realising a new generation of smart manufacturing can be enormous.
Pico was entrusted to provide a full range of brand activation services for the facility, including overall planning, visual branding, experience creation, spatial design and build, and creating online exhibition halls.
Held from 9-18 March 2021, the First ASEAN International Furniture and Furnishings Show 2021 VX (AIFFS VX) showed how a well-conceived virtual exhibition platform can successfully fulfill the business expectations of participants – and even offer advantages beyond the reach of in-person events.
Organized by the ASEAN Furniture Industries Council, the show was to serve as a showcase for the Asia-Pacific region’s major furniture industry players and suppliers, connecting them with architects, interior designers, space planners, developers, contractors, wholesalers, retailers and homeowners. Participants could also gain the insights of industry speakers at the show’s programme of conferences.
Visitors to tourist spots and major shopping malls have high expectations when it comes to festive Chinese New Year decorations. Pico was engaged to design and build the festive trimmings at several Macao locations, including One Central Macao shopping mall and The Parisian Macao and The Venetian Macao.
