Jinhan Fair for Home and Gifts – Online Exhibition

In June 2020, Pico teamed with smart trade show IT and platform supplier EastFair to assist the Jinhan Fair for Home and Gifts with its first online exhibition. Organized by Guangzhou Poly Jinhan Exhibition, the six-day event would give local and overseas buyers a look at approximately 200,000 products and countless business opportunities from China’s houseware, gift and handicraft manufacturers.

Taking an offline exhibition online can increase the size of its audience, making geographical and even time limitations irrelevant. To achieve this, an immersive and intuitive online experience is crucial. For the Jinhan Fair, the team aimed to recreate the physical exhibition experience as closely as possible whilst adding touches like a rendered 3D visual exhibition map with intelligent search for easy navigation, business matching and exhibitors’ post-event sales lead tracking.

Using a Pico-developed mobile device app or desktop webpage, visitors entered the online exhibition via a 3D visual exhibition map portal. The 3D map and intelligent search function enabled them to quickly find exhibitors of interest, make contact, and explore business opportunities.

The xBIM indoor positioning and navigation tool developed by Pico X offered the team great flexibility. For the Jinhan Fair, xBIM enabled the online venue’s 3D map to be used as the basis of the show’s 3D map service. This in turn was integrated with EastFair’s exhibition management app.

xBIM’s back-end system also proved useful, making it easy to change to booth arrangements and improve the overall effectiveness of the exhibition layout. New venue maps were quickly generated to reflect the latest changes. Meanwhile, xBIM’s data visualisation platform provided the show organizer and exhibitors with valuable statistics on booth visits, visitor navigation paths and more, aiding in the tracking of sales leads after the show.
