The Big Octopus installation at Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum in Australia

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, Australia unveiled a nine-meter Big Octopus installation on 12 November. Placed at the entrance of the auditorium, the installation takes the deadly venomous Blue-Ringed Octopus as the design concept because of its infamous status in Australia. Joining the league of Australia’s ‘big things’ attractions, the installation is set to be another icon of the destination.

The Big Octopus makes a striking presence by day and by night with glowing coloured LED lights contained in its blue rings that can be customised to support seasonal events and different charities.

The project was created and constructed by Pico Play, a Pico’s business arm in creating world-class themed attractions and entertainment. The team applied its extensive expertise in the planning, design and development of inspired leisure experiences to create the eye-popping Big Octopus.

Pico is honoured to be part of the creation of a destination experience that helps boost the local and national tourism industry.
